Trump's Regime Is Destroying the Environment
At this point it looks to be on purpose
In their quest to destroy everything good and green, Trump and his sycophants — as one commentor I saw put it, the ‘pack of unsharpened crayons’ — are tearing apart environmental regulations in the U.S.
The attacks range from assaults on the Endangered Species Act to giving the space industry carte blanche to do whatever they like regardless of regulatory guidelines for the environment.
They don’t care about anything but making a profit, and that includes the air we breathe, the land we stand on, and the animals we share the world with.
Don’t get me started on the water. Y’all know I have beef about that.
Ocean Temperatures Are Hitting Record Highs. Again.
Every year we hit a new record for ocean warming.
At this point, beyond just the usual profit motive, it’s starting to feel intentional.
These assholes took one look at dystopian novels like the Hunger Games and the Handmaid’s Tale and mistook them for fucking instruction manuals.
It’s no accident that all of our big, well-known dystopian fictions include extreme environmental destruction alongside the usual political upheavel and oppression. The ‘world that was’ before everything went to hell.
Yes, even the Hunger Games. Panem is the only country mentioned because it’s believed to be the only country left, following nuclear wars and out-of-control Climate Change. Handmaid’s Tale includes it as well, with the ‘unwomen’ being sent to clean up irradiated toxic wastelands that surround Gilead as a punishment.
It’s a consistent pattern. Ecological damage is part of the collapse.
Maybe these guys are just ignorant twatwaffles who believe that climate change is a hoax and that there are no consequences for what they do. Maybe they think their money gives them special powers of protection.
Maybe they think they’ll be dead before consequences touch them.
Who knows?
What I know is that I like being able to breathe. I love seeing green outside my window, having water to drink and good, healthy food to eat. I like hearing the birds singing outside and watching wildlife poking around my garden.
I love squirrels, even when they’re eating my lettuce.
Every regulation is written in blood. Someone did something stupid, bad things happened, and somebody decided to make a rule to stop it from happening again.
Taking away those regulations takes away the guardrails.
It just gets worse from here, unless they’re stopped.
Solidarity wins.

The squirrels eating lettuce comment got me rolling. I have seen those fuckers scale a corn stalk and grab a whole ear off and run back into the woods with it in their mouth to eat their spoils. They are little thieves.
At someone's recommendation, I watched new documentary called "Earth's Greatest Enemy" from Abbey Martin and her husband. It's all about how the U.S. military has grown so much around the world, with no environmental constraints, that they are now considered the worst entity on the planet when it comes to the sustainability of the planetary ecosystem.
In the name of U.S. national security, the Pentagon is ripping apart fragile ecosystems across the planet with no regrets. They're killing their own people and other life everywhere and have no accountability. No one dares to stand up to them out of fear, other than a handful of protestors. Who end up in jail in their respective countries.
The United States is an imperial monster that needs to be brought to its knees soon, or we may very well end up in a global ecosystem collapse within your lifetime, and my youngest sons and my grandchildren.
I think that reckoning is coming very soon. It won't be from global warming but by economics. The latest financial predictions are that within the next year or so, the U.S. will no longer be able to afford to pay it's debts and everything will collapse, once the inflation soars. The U.S. is quickly headed for the same historical reference as the Weimar government did when Hitler took over. The U.S. dollar may collapse to the point where it will be nearly worthless. The special paper it's printed on may be worth more than the actual monetary denomination printed on it.
No matter what happens, a major recession is coming soon and it will have a ripple effect all across the world. It's a good thing you have a garden. Stock up on what you can now before things start to run out. You still have a few more months but time is running out.
