It seems, for now, that the judicial branch is slowing their roll, at least in public anyway. Do I now suspect that future flights will be carried out in secrecy. You bet'cha. Does Trump truly care about what some lower court, federal judge says? Probably not, but he does value public opinion, and he knows that the optics of this debacle was bad. So, he will most likely continue with classified flights from now on. With his ever-increasing choke hold the U.S. mainstream media, he might get away with this for a while, until some independent reporters, like Zeteo or Ken Klippenstein expose him. That is what I want to see. What will Trump do when he is outed again?
I don't think this is going to slow his roll at all, Terrance. The planes did not turn around when the judge demanded they did, Marco Rubio continued the deportation announcements a day later without acknowledging the judge's statement at all.
They're ignoring judicial review, Terry. This isn't going to stop them. Public opinion is not going to stop them.
Maybe it's time the voters start voting for recalls of their state representatives? I don't see much shaking on that but, maybe we ought to start threatening them. If enough people stood up and start demanding action, with a threat of a voter recall, someone might actually start doing something.
He's being exposed plenty by lots of Substackers and other non-mainstream media types. He doesn't care at all about that, and if he starts to care, he'll start going after them, too.
If The Ink's Anand Giridharadas suddenly disappears in the middle of the night and ends up in the 40,000 inmate mega prison in El Salvador, his subscribers will wonder why he went dark for awhile, then move on to other distractions.
Only a mass protest involving millions of people will address this. Not the courts, not Substackers, not even the mainstream media if it finally turns on him.
And so far, there's just not enough anger out there for people to do anything. The price of eggs is just not quite high enough yet.
This means that no one is safe in the US and anyone could be plucked off the street and be never seen again. Already it's been made plain that anyone wanting to travel to the US even if they have the right paperwork and/or are a resident/green card holder is likely to be arrested by ICE at the border and detained. In the present situation wanting to visit the US for any reason would be utter insanity.
Simply put, you can’t be arrested and enslaved without being able to present your side of the story and then seeing what a judge or jury decides. It is wholly un-American. Fifth Amendment. And no Trump supporter would ever agree to risking one of their loved ones being grabbed and deported to a mega prison without due process. TGM: https://shorturl.at/QXJF0

Yeah...which makes my life incredibly difficult at the moment. My fiancé is stuck in the U.S. until we figure out the immigration situation.
You were very much on my mind when I was writing that Sam.
America has become an unsafe country, especially for travelers. I never thought I'd see that in my lifetime.
