This time, this world we are in is totally not about politics. It’s not about parties or the labels we’ve been duped into believing are better-than or worse-than. It’s not about anything but the last gasp of empire. Its feet of clay time with none of the trusted ideas or ideals working anymore. All the noise is just distraction to keep humans sleeping while the planet implodes. To keep us from noticing that all the centuries of empire have resulted in the destruction of our home. As far as we know, there’s no playbook, no historical precedent, for human-induced planetary destruction. We can’t stop

It or prepare for it by ordinary means. The only path forward is quite literally to trust God and do whatever you can to help others in front of you. It’s feet of iron and clay time folks, and getting all worked up over the latest political outrage will just keep you distracted. The empire guys? Don’t worry about them. They have their reward. They honestly believe once they’ve squeezed everything they can out of nature and humanity they will jet off to Mars and start over again. I like Daniel 2 better. The rock that knocks Empire into oblivion and takes over the whole earth.

No one is shrugging their shoulders. If the way to help that’s in front of you happens to be helping immigrants, do that. If it’s homeless folks down the street, do that. If it’s an isolated elderly person on your block, do that. Just stop wasting your breath and energy on decrying government and politics. Don’t worry, they won’t be around long. They’ll be replaced with something else and we can have a whole new set of things to be outraged about. They won’t last long either. No idea how long this will last or how often it will change. All I know is that the days of being able to rely on human institutions is over. That’s all I’m saying.

I can get behind the message of helping everyone; that's a worthy goal.

But I don't believe that speaking out against government overreach and injustice is a waste of breath or energy. I'm going to continue.

I mean, I certainly agree that climate change is an existential threat, but politics is deeply important right now.

Certainly the people being rounded up and tormented by armed groups of federal thugs don't deserve what's happening to them, and they deserve justice. We should be fighting for them, not shrugging our shoulders and leaving it to the Christian god.

With all respect to your faith, that's not my religion. Mine demands that those who see evil speak out and fight, as we believe that actions and choice reveal your character.
