Preparing for a Little Trip
Not for long! And I won't be far
I’m taking a small little trip. Not far; just the city neighbouring the small village I live in.
I have a hotel room booked, I’m packing my things, I’ve fixed things at work so I won’t have to stress about my shifts while I’m out, and I’m looking forward to having some time to relax.
My spouse is coming to town.
My new readers may or may not know by now, but my husband is currently in the process of immigrating to Canada from the United States. We are still currently long distance while our lawyers work with the government on our papers and get everything sorted out.
It’ll be months yet before he’s cleared to move here, and longer still before he gets permanent residency — assuming he does. I’ll be nervous until we have the proof in hand that he has been accepted and he’s safe.
He is arriving tonight and going home next weekend, so for this week, my activity level will dip somewhat. I’ll still publish a few things here and there, most likely, but I’m not going to stress about getting something out on schedule.
This is time to spend together and shut out the world for a little while.
I haven’t seen him in person since our wedding in October, so you can imagine how big a deal this short little visit is. Until we’re able to move in together, this is what we get.
I’m so looking forward to this. Wish us luck in this journey and I’ll see y’all when I see y’all!
Solidarity wins.
