If you want examples, take a look at Al Jazeera, and most of the Israeli news media. RT News from Russia is another. I read their stories and I have to weed through all of the fluff to actually find something that looks like real news reporting. I pick out maybe 1 out of a hundred every week. The same for the Europeans. I look at The Guardian, France24, and DW news from Germany with the same eye. It's rare I find anything of real value.

State run media everywhere is run by the corporate owners, who are subservient to their governments out of fear of losing money. If you want to read the real news, watch or read the independents, who are hanging on by threads these days. I support some, as I can, but it's hard for them. Which is why I read The Cradle for middle eastern news, and Mother Jones for domestic opinions. MSNow is the only American main stream news media I watch to some degree, with Zeteo another American independent that I read and watch with a bit of an eye. Some of their stuff are stories I pass quickly as I have no interest in anything the Brits do. As you know, I also pay attention to Canadian news as well.

It's a dodgy game of trying to weed through the news to actually finds something useful and truthful these days. I think that this may be of a purpose. Especially in the U.S.
