I'm afraid I can't feel nothing except disgust for a very large section of the human race.

It's highly likely that humanity won't survive past the end of the decade and instead of working together to collectively solve our problems we have wealthy despots clutching resources to themselves and actively working to rid the world of anyone they think isn't worthy enough to be alive.

I'm an old woman and with my health problems I probably won't see out the decade anyway, but I'm very much worried for my children.

It's very discouraging right now to say the least. I'm watching but I had to stop getting mad about it for my own health. I can remain saddened but that won't change anything.

What a lot of people are failing to see in the bigger picture, is that this is the start of the future genocides that will be committed as the planet keeps warming up. As the planet experiences more and more lands around the middle latitudes becoming unable to grow food and become uninhabitable, there will be more "Gaza's" in the near future. Sudan and Palestine are just the precursors of what's to come.

For you younger folks, you will see this unfold a lot more in your lifetimes. Food insecurity will become the norm rather than the exception within the next twenty years or so, in a large portion of the planet.

We can wail against the atrocities taking place right now all we want but we can't stop them from across oceans. Only the people on the ground over there can physically do something and no one wants to step up anymore. Us little people can donate all of the Loonies we want but most Palestinians will never see a penny of that money due to the corruption taking place between the people you think you're donating to and the actual people that are supposed to be delivering the supplies to Gaza. I'm not saying stop, just be aware that this is happening. I spent a lot of time in the middle east and I sort of know a little bit about the culture there in most of these countries. Buying and selling traditions dating back centuries. And, to use a Dari word, baksheesh is a large part of those business traditions. Religion has little to do with it.

Watch and weep. Say prayers for the people if that makes someone feel better. But realize as well, we have almost no control over what's happening there, much like the other genocides and ethnic cleansings that are and have taken place in living memory. There will be more coming soon.

I could not agree more with you on this - I wrote a slightly lesser article myself on this same piece a while back : https://medium.com/@andy.hilton.fl/what-kind-of-world-are-we-allowing-to-happen-0e49937d7fd6 - the world is literally falling apart :(
