Normally I would be finishing the final polish of Wednesday’s article this morning and getting it ready to go out tomorrow.
Normally I’d be typing down the outline for Monday’s article in the afternoon.
Unfortunately I am in no shape to do either of those things today, and I must beg your forgiveness, my dear readers.
Last night I was hit with a gods-awful bout of stomach sickness — I’m not sure if it was a bug or a result of something in my dinner not sitting right, but either way, I spent the evening curled up on the floor of my bathroom with a pillow when I wasn’t getting rid of the contents of my stomach.
Sorry for the graphic imagery. It’s nicer to write down than to experience, let me tell you.
Anyhow, I’m feeling a bit better today but I’m nowhere near 100%. I’m about to tempt fate by risking a few small bites of food, so if you’re the praying kind, please beg for mercy on my behalf!
The upshot is that I’m quite behind on my weekly work schedule for the publication.
I’m not going to bother fighting my body for dominance right now — it’s whupping my ass quite thoroughly and I’m not up for getting into the ring.
Just sitting up at my computer is hard.
I’ve made the decision to take this week off and let myself recover. The workaholic side of my brain is furious. My partner is worried, because he usually has a difficult time convincing me to take a break.
I’ve reassured him that I’m not dying. I just feel like I am. Urgh.
So there will be no big article on Wednesday this week; my apologies, guys. The article that was meant to go out tomorrow will instead be Monday’s issue, if all goes well.
Forgive me! And I hope you likewise are able to take time to relax a bit and rest your weary bones.
