Call It Like It Is: An ICE Agent Murdered an American Citizen In Cold Blood
She wasn't a threat, she wasn't an activist, she didn't hit him with her car. He just murdered her in the street
I saw the video.
We all saw the video.
The Trump administration apparently forgot that humans have these little things called ‘eyeballs’ that allow us to perceive and process what happens in front of us, because they keep trying to convince us that the murder victim deserved what she got.
To quote the ICE Agent who murdered her, a man by the name of Jonathan Ross, she was a “Fucking bitch.” Stay classy. Definitely sounds like a man who was scared for his life, right?
To quote the MAGA idiots online who couldn’t find their backsides with both hands, she wouldn’t be dead if she had just complied.
Which is the stock right-wing response, isn’t it?
If you get murdered by somebody with a thin veneer of authority, you must have done something to deserve it. Because they have no ability to think for themselves and the only thing they know how to do is kowtow to hierarchy and beg daddy Trump to tell them what to do.
You might have noticed I’m not in the mood to sound nice and professional today, and you’re right to think so — I’m not.
We just watched Trump’s semi-professional masked vigilante secret police force murder an American citizen in cold blood, on camera, in the middle of a city street in Minnesota, and we’re watching actual law enforcement cover it up.
It’s not even the only case of ICE agents shooting people and terrorizing civillians this month.
By the way, this is the same Minnesota where a right-wing lunatic assassinated a lawmaker and her husband last year, along with their dog.
Remember Democratic Speaker for the House Melissa Hortman? Remember how she was gunned down in her home and it was immediately swept under the rug? Unlike the murder of Charlie Kirk, which the right-wingers won’t shut up about.
And now they’re celebrating another murder. Another life lost at the end of a gun, wielded by men who don’t know how or when to use them.
At least that one ICE agent that slipped on a sidewalk and accidentally fired a round — because he didn’t turn the safety off and his finger was on the trigger — wasn’t aiming it at somebody’s face at the time.
But Trump’s government wants you to believe that Renee Nicole Good was a terrorist. An activist threatening ICE agents with her car. They want you to believe she was trying to kill them, so she was killed in self defense.
But alas, we all saw the video, and we know they’re lying through their teeth.
Their forked tongues are wagging, and they expect that people are so lost in a storm of disinformation that they’ll shrug and go about their day and do nothing.
They’re wrong. They have to be wrong. If they turn out to be correct, then gods help us.
We have to be very clear about what they’re doing, and what we’re seeing.
What we’re seeing is ICE thugs on a power trip, being given free reign to literally get away with murder and enjoying the authority they have while they have it. Any Middle School bully who gets off on violence can now be given a badge, a gun, and according to the Vice President of the United States, immunity.
What they’re doing is utilizing the State’s Monopoly on Violence.
Remember when we talked about that?
When you’re in the process of closing down an open society and instituting authoritarian rule, you have to convince the people to go along with your plan — widespread, sustained dissent is the deathknell of fascism.
The best way to force acceptance of your power is to gradually normalize political violence against the people fighting back.
You might do that by, say, putting out a memo that anyone who exhibits ‘anti-American behaviour’ or ‘anti-fascist ideologies’ is actually a terrorist who represents a threat to public safety.
Then you might give your violent government-approved street thugs carte blanche to do whatever they like to those people in the name of ‘keeping America safe.’
Your brainwashed core followers will repeat it, of course, and as it becomes normalised and accepted that you will be beaten down or shot in the street if you resist in any way, people will begin to fear for their lives.
They’ll come to the realization that law enforcement won’t help them, so they’ll go quiet. It’s not cowardice, it’s self-preservation. People have families, loved ones, and lives to protect. If they have to choose, many of them will shut their mouths and endure to keep their communities ‘safe.’
This is why it is so, vitally important that fascist regimes are stopped in the beginning — you do not wait for them to entrench themselves.
You stop the Nazis before you get to the Holocaust. If you wait for the Holocaust to start, you’re letting people die. By that point, it will be too late, and it will be much, much harder to lever them out of their power.
Once it is widely accepted that the state can murder you for defying their commands, you have lost.
Whatever you do, you cannot accept this.
ICE agents are not general law enforcement officers. They have a specific jurisdiction that limits their legal authority — at least on paper. They’re not supposed to be giving orders to U.S. citizens, they’re only allowed to do so when they’re directly involved in immigration-enforcement on the scene.
They absolutely do not have the right to extrajudicially kill citizens.
They should never have their fingers on the trigger.
They can’t enter your home without consent, they don’t have judge-signed warrants to do so no matter what they claim; that’s not their job, they are not police.
Know your rights. Know the rights of other people.
With all of that in mind, the video evidence we have is clear. In a court of law, we have to bend to evidence and the judgement of a jury before one can be declared guilty of murder.
But we are not in a court of law. In the court of public opinion, we can call it like we see it.
What I saw was a woman turning her car wheels away from an agent who put himself in front of her vehicle. What I saw was her car turning away from an angry man with a gun.
What I saw was that agent firing three bullets through the window of her car from the side of the hood, shooting her in the face and letting her vehicle veer off down the street and smash into other parked cars while witnesses screamed in shock.
While the victim’s wife stood to the side, having watched her wife shot to death before her eyes shortly after dropping off their six-year-old child at school.
What I saw was a pack of thugs blocking a doctor from trying to help her. What I saw was a woman allowed to sit and bleed in the driver’s seat, and people being made to carry her like a sack of rice for quite a distance before being granted permission to give CPR.
What I saw was the man who shot her fleeing the scene in another car while his buddies hung back to watch the aftermath.
What I saw was murder.
And what I hear from the government of the United States is nothing but a vat of regurgitated lies and slander for a victim who hadn’t hurt anybody at all.
Remember that old quote from George Orwell’s novel, 1984:
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
I don’t think that’s a command worth following.
Solidarity wins.

While I love what you say, I haven’t seen any of the Trumpers in my “orbit” change their thinking. This includes people like my too- talkative neighbor, our auto mechanic, the farms flying Trump flags, my essentially estranged in-laws. They have the same values as I—for the most part—but their news sources literally don’t report some things, and twist others. I’m am very pessimistic that we can stop this as long as Fox News is around. And this should raise huge alarms for Canada.
