I wrote a post in my blog at www.crann-na-beatha.com/blog last night, details all of my latest trials over the last two weeks. Everything from IT issues, to online scammers and the coming recession/depression. Needless to say, it's been a rough couple of weeks, and it's still far from being done. I have a lot more on my plate before I can draw a relaxed breath. I'm on my way out the door to by a new hard drive for a computer right now because Amazon can't deliver the one I ordered nearly two weeks ago. And it was ordered from an American company out of New York. That just goes to show us how bad the U.S. economy, especially the tech sector, is failing and no one is talking about this very much.
I'm so sorry Terry, that's a nightmare and a half. It seems like half of our usual food stock at the store is unable to be ordered, and we've got serious shortages in a lot of our bread and butter products.
For a while we couldn't even get our usual bulk order of generic distilled water from our own company brand. Dunno where the shortage came from, probably something to do with labour or plastic costs, couldn't tell you. But everything is dropping off the software for orders, and the prices on most of our other stock is going up by a lot.
And to top things off, I learned today that my local veterans hospital is suffering from a severe shortage doctors. So timely care has gone by the wayside now. I had to get a referral to a non-VA care facility just to be looked at, and I have no idea when I will get to see my regular VA doctor anymore.
As for my computer parts, I found a local mom & pop computer repair store that sold me what I needed. Yay for Go Local. Amazon is becoming next to useless for specialty items anymore.
Hang in there. You folks up there stand a better chance at recovery than we do down here.
I caught COVID-19 for the 3rd time back in March and I am seriously over idiots saying it's just like a cold and nothing to worry about. I thought my number was going to be up, but making sure I was up to date with my jabs meant that this time around I got away with it with only some damage to my left lung and my CFS/ME flaring up and making life more difficult to get anything done. My daughter though ended up barely able to walk and now needs a wheelchair to get around. I do my best to look after her, but at my age I never seem to have enough spoons to be of much help. I've given up watching the news. There's nothing I can do about any of the bad crap and wicked arseholes tearing apart this world of ours and all it does put my heart rate into tailspin. If somehow I was offered a device with a big red button on it and told that it would wipe out them all out I wouldn't hesitate over slapping my hand down on it.
For me, it's the exhaustion from the scary news 24/7. It builds and builds and instead of finding something to give their audience some much needed hope, they double and triple down on the scary. I know there are good things happening too but it's easy to forget that when it's always rage bait or scare bait to get their audience going.

I'm so sorry Anne, that's a lot to deal with...Covid is no joke at all, and the weight of the world feels all the heavier these days.
